The WaterRower has been designed as a natural rowing simulator and is unrivalled in replicating not only the superb physiological dynamics of rowing, but much of the aesthetic pleasure as well, giving the calming feel of a boat gliding down the river. The WaterRower's patented WaterFlywheel utilizes the same physical elements (water) and the same physical dynamics (fluid drag) as occur when a boat moves through water. The easy-to-read Series 4 monitor allows you to quick start or you can take advantage of a variety of built-in programs, including heart rate functions. This is polar compatible. Chest strap is not included. Partial self assembly required. Rowing is a seated aerobic pursuit suitable for all users. It removes all the body weight from the ankles, knees and hips, moving the limbs and joints through a full range of motion, from completely extended to completely contracted. Beneficial for the back and strong posture, it recruits the muscles of the torso in equal proportions to the other major muscle groups of the legs and arms.
